iComfort Now Runs Smooth!!! - Here's the Magic...

Lennox doesn't tell you that iComfort requires extremely constant and smooth AC power. Any poer outages or glitches and the system reads wrong temperatures! I dealt with this for years until figuring out that mis-reads on the stats was tied to power glitches. So my HVAC contractor paid for and installed an APC Sinewave Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) as the power source to the furnace and motherboard and now the system runs smooth as silk. No more mis-reading temps! Working like a charm for many months. We also have a backup generator so the power loss of a few seconds during generator coming online is smoothed over by the UPS - this used to cause problems but no more! Any spikes or brownouts is also smoothed over for constant, clean power to the iComfort mother board - that's the magic! It's just amazing lack of insight and customer focus that Lennox never recommended a power cleanup with a UPS. They are impossible to reach and never seemed to have spent the time to figure this out. Note: Installing a UPS may require an electrician or HVAC contractor to change from a hard wired power setup to a plug that can go into a UPS (there's no inline UPS I'm aware of). And the UPS should not be exposed to temperatures or moisture outside it's operating parameters. In other words, get some professional advice! But honestly, I now love my iComfort system and it's amazing and does what they promise!!!!
